Transcendence
TranscendenceGreat Blue Heron - During a snowy day and wintry landscape at Shelby Farms Park, I witnessed this amazing flight overhead! I slowly made my way to the Frozen Lake - while inhaling crisp fresh air and listening to the crunch of snow under my feet. As I stepped by the lakeshore, a huge heron ascended out of the bush and flew down towards the lake and flying several feet in front of me. Awe struck and taking in the moment, I held my breath and watched quietly as the Great Blue Heron landed effortlessly on the ice.
“Timeless Beauty II”
“Timeless Beauty II”An early summer sunset at Shelby Farms Park. Lush green meadow grass contrasts with a dynamic pink sunset. Smoke haze from Canadian forest fires had drifted down to the Mid-South creating this striated color effect. All of a sudden the sunset looked like a scene from a sci-fy movie.
Dreamtime Lotus
Dreamtime LotusA Lotus blooms in August at Memphis Botanical Gardens. Lotus flowers love the heat of Memphis Summers and bloom in the morning from the pond with vibrant and lush petals.

Summer Meadow at Sunset - Shelby Farms Park Conservancy ~ Featured on the cover of Tennessee Conservationist Magazine, Summer Issue ~Honored to contribute this photography for the Tennessee Conservationist Magazine’s Cover for their 85th Anniversary Issue (July/August Issue) - TN Dept. of Environment & ConservationJust at sunset, imagine the humid summer air and use your senses…the Red Wing Black Bird sings, crickets chirp, the tall grass blows in the wind and the heat of the day releases a sweet grass fragrance of warmed earth. One summer evening in June the sky demonstrated these intense array of colors.

Infinite Wisdom of Trees
Infinite Wisdom of TreesThis is a sprawling oak tree next to a pond at Shelby Farms Park. I visited this tree every month for an entire year and photographed it through the changing seasons. This tree called me back every month to spend time contemplating its majestic presence, strength, quiet calm and the overall importance of trees to our planet.
Tree of Infinite Wisdom
Tree of Infinite WisdomShelby Farms Park Meadow - studied this inspiring tree through the seasons. I continued to return to this tree every month. This photograph was taken during the very early stages of Spring and superimposed with my night sky image.
Wolf Pack Spirit
Wolf Pack SpiritPlayful pup pack at the Memphis Zoo chilling on a hot summer day after zoomies, they collapsed into this puppy pack. The wolf pack siblings here are Doty, Blaze, and Atlas. Watching these pups grow, was a sheer delight to photograph. Canine intuitiveness, exuberant play, love and the strength of their bonds was amazing to witness.
“Earth Symbiosis”
“Earth Symbiosis”A Bumble Bee hard at Work in the August heat at the lush Memphis Botanical Gardens. The stunning and unique plant the bees were busy gathering pollen from is a Thalia Dealbata with violet colored petals. It grows in bogs or wetlands.
